CREATE YOUR OWN ENDING

After reading the first part in the story, we can stop before the story get resolved. We can ask our students for inventing the end of the story. We could do that making a picture and then sharing it and telling their own ending.

FIVE LITTLE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED

REPETITION

As the story is repetitive we can ask them to repeat the phrases for keeping them active and practice that structures:

Teacher: Five little monkeys 
Students: jumping on the bed,
Teacher: One fell down 
Students: and bumped his head,
Teacher: Mama called the doctor and the doctor said,
Students: No more monkeys jumping on the bed!
Teacher: Four little monkeys 
Students: jumping on the bed,
Teacher: One fell down 
Students: and bumped his head,
Teacher: Mama called the doctor and the doctor said,
Students: No more monkeys jumping on the bed!
Teacher: Three little monkeys 
Students: jumping on the bed,
Teacher: One fell down 
Students:and bumped her head,

Q and A

We can ask some questions during the story for making sure that they are understanding what is happening. For example:
- Point the lion
- Point the mouse
- Where are they?
- What is mouse doing? Why?
- What have we learnt with that story?

 THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE

We can ask them to make some movements when we say the words "tortoise" and "hare". As it are words that are repeated along the story, they are going to pay attention at it.
