CONNECT TO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCES

We start talking about the sea. What animals can you find there? Do they have fish? What are their names? Then we can present the protagonist.

ASK TO PREDICT WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE STORY

We just know the protagonist so we can predict what is going to happen.

CAPTURE THEIR ATTENTION AND ASK STUDENTS TO PREDICT WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE STORY

We can start showing them the book cover and telling the title. They are going to imagine what´s going to happen. In that time, they have to agree each other and make their own story.

PRE-TEACH NEW VOCABULARY OR EXPRESSIONS

We are going to choose some words or expression they will have to know to understand the story. We can make flash cards with that vocabulary for made them remember it.

We can make puppets and presenting the characters by them. That will capture their attention and what is more, we can use them in the storytelling.

REVIEW LANGUAGE STUDENTS HAVE LEARNED

We can make a list with different animals they know to review that vocabulary.
